Kristy and Graham were married at the start of July in an awesome outdoor ceremony at Graham’s parents’ house east of the Sault. They said their vows under a large tree overlooking Lake Superior. Outdoor weddings are always fun as the couple is able to add a bit more of them into the location and ceremony and it switches it up from your normal church setting. This wedding was a unique one for me because I knew the majority of people heading in; I met most of them at Rachel and Ryan’s wedding last year which always makes it fun when you’re reconnecting. We did the majority of formal shots at the same location as it provided everything that we were looking for; from there we heading to the party at the Delta to rock the rest of the night away.

Here’s another wedding from June; this time it is Megan and Mathew. I had connections to both Megan and Mathew that no one really knew till the day of; I went to university with Megan’s brother (which they knew as he suggested me but I didn’t put that together until day of) and played hockey with one of Mathew’s brothers. It’s a typical situation for the Sault though; you always know someone somehow.

Megan and Mathew’s wedding took place in Mathew’s parents’ yard. It was the perfect location for their small intimate wedding. From there we headed out to Gros Cap to get some outdoor bridal shots done and then we ended up at Northcrest Bowling Alley as both Megan and Mathew are bowlers. The lanes actually provided for some fun shots and the bridal party were able to get a few frames in before heading off to the reception.

Rachel and Ryan were married in Bar River at Ryan’s uncle’s farm. I absolutely dig outdoor weddings and outdoor weddings at unique and cool locations just make them that much more awesome. Bryan was along as a second shooter for the day and was able to grab a lot of the details of the farm and the reception. It was a good morning as well, Bryan hung out with the guys at the farm and I spent it having breakfast with the girls – sometimes I get the hard job.

Now moving on to the “this will most likely not happen at your wedding” story of the day: in a weird set of circumstances I actually ended up driving Rachel and Ryan to their hotel after the reception. Bryan and I were tearing down the Awesome Booth and continued mingling with guests while doing it. After everything was loaded in the car it was a lot later than when we actually planned on leaving. We headed back into the reception to say bye to Rachel and Ryan and no one was left. So after moving some equipment around; Rachel, Ryan and Ryan’s box of pizza hopped in the car and off to their hotel. True story.
