Jess and Kevin – Sault Ste Marie Wedding

Jess and Kevin were married in late September. Their wedding was held at St. Gregory’s Church, we shot the bridal party photos out at Hiawatha Highlands/Kinsmen Park and the reception took place at the Riuniti Hall in the north end of the Sault. I have known Jess for about 10 years now as we met at university so not only was I the photographer but also an invited guest at the wedding.

The rain held out during the day allowing us to capture some great photos at the park. The leaves were just starting to change into their amazing fall colours and the falls/creek were still flowing providing great atmosphere and a relaxing setting.

It was an awesome day guys and I hope you’ve been enjoying your time together since after the wedding.

Sandra and Jer – Engagement Shoot

Sandra and Jer are friends and for whatever reason it is odd to shoot your friends. I’ve known Jer for well over 10 years now and he can probably tell stories about me that only a few others that we still hang around know or were at. Sandra and Jer are probably the perfect six-degree of Curt O’Neil couple possible. They’re so good at it most connections back to me are probably two degrees. Sandra’s sister plays on my slo-pitch team and that sister’s husband is Bryan of “Bryan the 2nd shooter fame”. Sandra and Jer’s wedding next year is a great day for me as it is a day off – I get to attend their wedding as a guest and not the photographer so as a consolation they got me to shoot their engagement shoot for them.

We started the shoot off walking through the Soo Canal finding different spots to shoot. After there we went to the waterfront around the Roberta Bondar Pavilion and shot what was available. While walking the boardwalk I noticed a turtle down on some rocks, I’m not a turtle expert but it didn’t seem like a location for him to be so he’s featured in here as well. To finish off the shoot we had my favourite part of the day – lunch!

Thanks for the great day Sandra and Jer and can’t wait for your wedding next June!

Whitely Family

I met Scott, Melissa, Hanna, Nathan and their dog Pacey at Hiawatha Highlands/Kinsmen Park in the northern part of the Sault for a family shoot. I’m not sure who had more energy throughout the shoot – Nathan or Pacey but I’ll give the win to the dog. The kids enjoyed getting to play on the different apparatus available throughout the park and I was able to get shots of the family interacting together. Every time I look at the pictures of Nathan basically turning himself into jelly and falling over letting others hold him up I can’t help but laugh.

I just realized while making this post that teeter totter is a funny word.

Thanks for the great time Whitelys!
