Here’s Leslie and Clyde’s wedding from the middle of October. It was crazy how quickly the weather changed here from the weekend before. The nice fall weather turned into a crazy fall storm for their big day. Luckily everything was taking place at the Water Tower Inn so the girls didn’t have to worry about heading outside into the wind and rain. Everything happened right there at the Water Tower, ceremony, formal shots and the reception – most of my “rained” out weddings happen when we’re at the Water Tower which is always a plus.

Thanks for not letting the weather affect you guys at all and for the great day!

So I seem to have this curse following me that if you have your wedding at the Water Tower Inn chances are you will get rained on. Not every wedding that I’ve shot there has had rain but the majority have. So be warned.

Mel and Tim didn’t care though and went through with the outdoor ceremony which was squeezed in through the raindrops. The bridal party then even humoured me to head outside for some shots which we slid in through down pours. Thanks for being huge troopers guys – especially the groomsmen who let the girls hide under the umbrellas while we sat in the rain.

Rain rain and more rain; it seems to be the theme of my Saturday weddings this year. For this Saturday it rained and when the plan was for an awesome outdoor wedding at the Sault Ste. Marie Canal plans were changed and new plans made on the fly. Nat and Matt took everything in stride however and didn’t let the rain bother them. The entire wedding now took place at the Water Tower Inn where I’ve shot a number of times this year already. Nat and Matt’s wedding was awesomely themed as “old Hollywood” featuring fedoras for the guys and a red carpet for the girls to walk down. We ended up walking around and using a lot of the hotel for the fun bridal party and bride and groom shots. Being stuck indoors always challenges you to find locations that people see everyday and trying to make them work the best for your couple – I think we pulled it off and the fact Nat and Matt were up for anything definitely helped that out.

Thanks for letting me be part of your big day! And for those keeping track at home Nat and Matt were the couple to push me over the edge and get me into shooting wedding photography. So if you like what you see me doing these are the guys you need to thank (along with Jeannette and Tony).
