Last Friday I headed up north just past Pancake Bay with Rachel, Ryan and their dog Gibson to smash up some wild engagement photos. This was officially one year away from their wedding! After receiving multiple bribes from Rachel and playing with her emotions (see the post below this one) we can finally launch their shoot onto the world!
Rachel and Ryan were awesome during the day. We had a minor traumatic experience while driving on our way out but moved on and had a great day out at Ryan’s camp on Hibbard Bay. Rachel and Ryan were up for anything from climbing into old, smashed up, rusted cars without wearing any shoes (they left them on the beach) to jumping into the water for some moody and romantic couple shots. That water was cold, I should know I was in it as well. I was also splashed by it when I took the time out to laugh at them.
Thanks for the great day guys, even if I came back short a pint of blood from all of the mosquito bites.
Quote of the day (as best as I remember it):
Ryan: Can we hurry this up just a bit, I’m getting bit in here.
Curt: Just hold on for a second, it’s all for the shot and I AM GETTING BIT OUT HERE! (I then proceeded to point at the blood running down both of my legs).
Can’t wait for the wedding next August guys! For now enjoy the pics!
Fantastic Curt, they are getting better and better, you totally out did yourself.
My favorite are the car shots, especially the one with Rachel in black & white
Wow Curt! You have such a talent that you cannot give up! These pictures are amazing! Thank you so much… we had such a FUN day with you!!! Thanks for getting eaten alive by mosquitoes and sorry for all the stabs in the neck from trees… just remember… “It’s all for the picture.”
Wow, Curt, you’ve been busy!! The B/W in the car might be my new alltime fav pic of yours! Well done!
Running out of words dude. These rock. The black and white are beautiful.
as usual
way to go man, those ones belong in a magazine!
Gorgeous location and couple.
My fav is the BW shot of her in the car. berry noice.
Wow Curt, awesome work. I really like what you’ve been doing, keep it up!
Thanks Rachel. As I say, the key to the shoots is that you have fun first and that the shots we come away with are just the icing on the cake. To everyone else, thanks again, as long as you keep commenting I’ll keep going at it and trying to do new and fun things. I also like how everyone has their own favourites from all the different shoots!
Curt, these are fantastic. Love the colour and love the setting. You have done a great job. A pint of blood! talk about commitment to the process. Looking forward to seeing lots more from you. 🙂

Wow, these pics are absolutely amazing! Rach, you are incredibly beautiful and I miss you so much! Ryan and Gibson are looking pretty good too! 🙂 Curt, you have really captured the moment and passion in all of these pics and for me, who lives so far away in Calgary and have not seen Rach or Ryan in 3 years makes me feel like I haven’t missed a day with them! 🙂
