The adventure is almost over – I promise. I think I have about 4 or 5 more parts but that’s it and I may cut it back or combine some. This is the second last part to the middle portion of our trip. After that we move to the fun part of the trip which ended way too soon. This was another one of my attempts at capturing that great Hawaiian sunset only to fail. The Hawaiian sun and myself did not have a great relationship. On to the clues (which I really don’t know how to clue this one).

The Clues:

4. tide pools

(okay okay I really couldn’t think of fun ones for this so it narrows it down pretty good)

This day is another one broken down into two separate parts. We’re close to about midway through the trip now. At this location Jes laid on the beach and I decided to walk around a bit and climb some rocks. Luckily I did because I found more honu! So awesome seeing them in person.

The clues:
1. how big is this island?
2. One of the top beaches on the island
3. limited parking available
4. access through a resort

This part of the game happened the same day as Part 4. The shots aren’t as good as what has been up but I couldn’t resist posting this part of the trip. Once again there are multiple locations here, I’ll just go with two locations for this one even though there are a couple of different parts to location 2.

The clues:
1. that’s one Big Island
2. black sand beach (1)
3. monk seals hang out here (we didn’t see any) (1)
4. hot hot hot but cold cold cold (2)
5. the island wouldn’t be here without it (2)

Part 4 covers only a part of day 5 of the adventure. This part has two places to guess. The first four photos below are the first location and the last four represent the second place. This was also the first time I saw honu and became very excited. My adventures for honu have now continued with every beach I get to. I’ll try to arrange the clues for the ones that apply to both and only apply to the first or second location, both locations won’t have a marker, the first location will be followed by a (1) and the second by (2). Easy enough.

The clues:
1. we’re still on the Big Island
2. made a national park in 1978 (1)
3. small boat harbour shares same name (1)
4. fishponds to raise fish “stuck in the 80s” created here (1)
5. a top snorkeling spot though Jes says it doesn’t compare to Dahab (2)
6. a great spot to find honu (2)

Where Are We – Day 5A

Part 3 is coming at you quick and speedy. This one actually covers two separate nights but the same location. I’ve been trying to capture that majestic Hawaiian sunset but have failed miserably on three separate occasions. The first time the sun was already down by the time we made it to the location (the colours still in the sky were amazing and seen in the first two shots below), the second and third time it hid behind some overcast/vog filled sky. The third time it actually looked clear until the sun was approaching the horizon and boom – horrible horrible finish. So behold, Part 3, featuring two attempts at capturing the sunset at the same location.

The clues:
1. we’re on the Big Island
2. one of the best photo op places for the sunset (you’ll find a lot of similar shots/setups)
3. if the A Team were cruising around this would be where they’d end up
