Jillian and John met while working at Pancake Bay Provincial Park which is about an hour north of Sault Ste. Marie so there was no better place to go for their engagement shoot then the park itself. We started off at the staff barracks and walked around the initial areas of the park using its natural setting on the shores of Lake Superior as the perfect backdrop. Milo their Jack Russell Terrier joined us for their shoot and he was actual the person… dog… who proposed to Jillian.

As we made our way through the park I would come up with random stories on how they met and where they would sneak away to for some alone time. They never denied any of it, so featured below are some of the key locations on where Jillian and John’s relationship started such as secluded paths through the woods, the group picnic shelter and outhouse number six.

Andrea’s and Scott’s wedding was held on the grounds of Andrea’s parents’ house and motel the Clansmen Motel on St. Joseph Island just east of Sault Ste. Marie. The location was great and the island provided an amazing back drop for the rest of the photos throughout the day.

I started the morning off nice and early with the girls at June and Friend’s Salon on Queen St. in the Sault and then made our way out to the island after that. On the island I stayed with the girls at the motel while they continued their prep and Bryan met up with the guys at the beach. Bryan and I split up again when I took the bridal party away to rock out the formal shots and Bryan was able to capture all of the details of the venue.

The day was great, the sun was shining and Andrea, Scott and the bridal party were up for anything and even offered some of their own fun suggestions for shots.

Andrea and Scott invited me out to their rehearsal party the day before their wedding to meet them, get some party shots and sneak in a quick mini photo shoot with them as well. Bryan who was the second shooter for the wedding day also joined me to capture some alternate angles and landscape shots. The food was great – I was able to grab a quick bite of their dinner which was Mexican and I’m a sucker for simple Mexican food, the music was provided by Andrea’s mom’s band which was awesome and the location out on St. Joseph’s Island at the Hunter and Angler’s Clubhouse was ideal.

After we were found and told we had to go back to the party because everyone was looking for Andrea and Scott they played a slide show and then roasted some corn over a large bonfire. Growing up around here I have never heard of the corn thing before so we had to stay just to see it.
